Among those currently housed at Morningstar, 12 year old Maria has been here the longest. She arrived in February of 2009 from an environment of negligence and abuse on the part of her single mother. She has shown significant improvement in response to the loving care of the Morningstar staff and attends Strong Tower Christian school in the 4th grade.
